Frequently Asked Questions

Questions, answered

The things players, Dungeon Masters, and makers ask us most — from scale and materials to file submission and fulfillment. Still stuck? The workshop is one message away.

Do you sell STL files?+

No. MimicWorkshop is not a marketplace and we do not sell digital files. We manufacture finished, physical tabletop products from commercially licensed designs — from STL to tabletop.

Where are products made?+

Everything is produced on demand on our own print floor in Davie, Florida, then quality-inspected before it ships.

What scale standards do you produce?+

Miniatures are produced at standard tabletop scales of 28mm and 32mm, with 75mm available for select hero and display pieces where a listing specifies it. Every product page states the exact scale of that model.

What materials do you use?+

Miniatures and high-detail pieces are printed in high-detail engineering resin for crisp definition. Terrain, storage systems, and technical/functional housings are printed in high-impact FDM thermoplastic — typically PLA or PETG — selected for structural durability. Each product page lists the specific material.

Can you print my own STL files or design a custom part?+

Yes. We offer on-demand 3D printing of customer-supplied, print-ready STL files (including your own tabletop miniatures or terrain), and technical CAD/SolidWorks prototyping for enclosures and mechanical components. Note that we print files exactly as provided — we do not offer organic modeling, digital sculpting, or artistic edits to supplied assets.

How do I send my files or blueprints?+

Share a single access link to your files via an external storage provider — Google Drive, Dropbox, or OneDrive. Set the link to allow access, confirm your STL is print-ready (watertight mesh, correct scale, no unsupported geometry), and send the link with your project details. Please do not email file attachments.

Who designs your miniatures and terrain?+

Our miniatures and terrain are officially licensed from Cast N Play, and our storage systems are built on the Modi Case ecosystem. Accessories, painting supplies, and bundles are MimicWorkshop first-party lines. See our licensing page for full attribution and intellectual-property terms.

Are the miniatures painted?+

Products ship unpainted unless a listing explicitly states otherwise, ready for priming and your own paint scheme. Check the Workshop Journal for painting guides.

How long until my order ships?+

Standard catalog miniatures and accessories are fulfilled in 3–5 business days; complex or high-volume technical CAD/SolidWorks prototyping projects take 5–10 business days. That production window is separate from carrier transit time. Full details are on our shipping page.

What is your return policy?+

Because every item is made to order, all sales are final — we do not offer refunds or change-of-mind returns. If your order arrives with transit damage or a critical structural print failure, report it within 48 hours of delivery with photographic evidence and we will dispatch a replacement. See our returns page for the full policy.

Is the Modi Case system modular?+

Yes. Modi Case is a modular, expandable storage ecosystem — pieces combine into a campaign kit you can transport safely. Each listing notes compatibility and expansion modules.
